On iPhone, deleted photos move to the Recently Deleted album for about 30 days before the space is truly freed. Android has the same idea under a different name, a system trash that holds them for 30 days too. Either way it is an operating system safety feature, and it is also your safety net.

To free the space right away: open Photos, then Albums, then Recently Deleted, and tap Delete All. Swippr's payoff screen has a shortcut that takes you there.

No. Photos you swipe away only go to a review bin inside the app. Nothing is removed from your library until you tap Delete All and confirm the system dialog that iOS itself shows. Swippr cannot bypass that dialog, by design.

Yes. Tap the undo button in the deck to reverse your last swipes, or open the review bin and rescue any photo before confirming. After a confirmed delete, you still have about 30 days to recover items from the Recently Deleted album in Photos.

Rescuing a photo takes the decision back rather than turning it into a keep, so that photo returns to the deck for a fresh look. Swippr would rather ask you once more than decide something on your behalf.

You likely granted access to selected photos only. That is a perfectly fine way to use Swippr. To change it, open iOS Settings, then Apps, then Swippr, then Photos and choose Full Access, or add more photos to the selection.

If you use iCloud Photos with Optimize iPhone Storage, iOS keeps only a small preview of older photos on the device and leaves the full-size original in iCloud. Swippr badges those and leaves them out of the size total, because deleting one frees space in iCloud rather than on your iPhone. When every photo you have staged is in iCloud, the bin says so instead of showing a total of zero.

Swippr will not download originals just to measure them. That would spend your data and fill the space you are trying to free. Tap the badge in the app for the same explanation. Playing a video does pull it down, and once it is on the device the badge clears and its size starts counting.

No. Swippr remembers every decision on your device, so a photo you kept or cleaned never re-enters the deck. If you want a fresh start, you can reset review memory from the app and every photo becomes reviewable again.

Swippr never uploads your photos. Reviewing, grouping, and finding similar shots all happen on your phone, and no photo or anything worked out from one is ever sent anywhere.

It does not promise to run with no connection, though. If iCloud Photos is set to Optimize iPhone Storage, older photos keep only a small preview on the device, so showing you the full picture means iOS fetching it back from your own iCloud. A Live Photo is one asset, so deleting it removes both the still and its motion clip. Videos preview inline in the deck with a tap, and their sizes are measured in the background so the biggest space savers surface on the home screen.
